CEO Transition Press Release
Leasecake Names Alan Panezic CEO as Scott Williamson Moves to Board of Directors
Williamson departs the top job after building the company's operational and financial foundation. Panezic, formerly Chief Product Officer, will lead Leasecake's next phase of product-driven growth.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA — 08/11/26 — Leasecake, the all-in-one lease and location management platform built for multi-unit and multi-location businesses, today announced that Scott Williamson is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer. He will remain with the company as a member of its Board of Directors. Alan Panezic, who has served as Leasecake's Chief Product Officer, will succeed him as CEO effective August 3, 2026.
Williamson took over at a point when Leasecake needed structure as much as it needed growth, and he built both. He put financial discipline in place, sharpened the way the company operates day to day, and grew the customer base to more than 500 businesses across restaurants, retail, and franchise operations — tripling in size over his tenure. Those results gave the company a foundation solid enough to hand off to someone focused on what comes next.
"When we started, this industry was run by a handful of legacy players who'd stopped listening to the people actually using their software," said Williamson. "We set out to build something genuinely different, a platform operators would actually want to use, not just tolerate. I'm proud of what this team built, and prouder still that we did it while staying disciplined about the business itself. I'm not going anywhere. Alan has the product instincts this next chapter needs, and I plan to spend my time on the board making sure he gets there faster."
Panezic joined Leasecake's leadership team as Chief Product Officer and has spent his tenure close to the product itself, working on the architecture and features that customers use every day, including the company's LIFT risk analysis tools. As CEO, he intends to keep that same product-led focus at the center of the company's strategy. His early priorities include investing in Leasecake's next-generation platform, internally known as Next Generation, and expanding the product's capabilities so it can serve larger, more complex customers.
"Scott handed me a company with raving customers, real discipline, and real momentum, and a growth story that speaks for itself," said Panezic. "That's not something every new CEO gets to say. My job now is to build on that. We're investing heavily in Next Generation and in the capabilities that let bigger, more complicated operators run on Leasecake with the same confidence our smallest customers already have. Scott staying on the board means we don't lose any of the judgment that got us here. We just get to move faster with it."
Williamson's continued presence on the board is intended to preserve institutional knowledge and industry perspective through the leadership change. He will advise Panezic and the executive team on strategy while stepping back from day-to-day operations.
